Heroes of Tamriel

Tamriel is an ancient land, home to many kinds of beings over the centuries and millenia it has existed. The Elder Scrolls speak of events that have happened, and those yet to come. Many may answer their call, knowingly or unknowlingly, and these are some of those who may one day fulfill their prophecies.

2nd Era 582 (Interregnum)

After the fall of the Second Empire, several former states teamed up to fight each other, seeking to determine who would become its successor. The Dragonfires were extinguished, allowing Daedra to commence their plans against the Mundus without much hinderance. This was the time of the Interregnum, a time that would become lost to the historians of later eras.

Scales-Like-Coin

Scales-Like-Coin is mostly known as a rich eccentric Argonian who made her fortune on the Tales of Tribute circuit. Using her funds, she purchased lands in one of the more private areas of Vvardenfell and established the Silver Scales Retreat, a gaming house for both card sharks, and those who wish some privacy for their dealings and games.

While true enough on the surface, she is also a vampire, and uses the retreat as her own feeding ground. When the occasional desperate gambler disappears, most believe they ran to escape their debt. This provides a perfect cover for those she whisks away into her warehouse sanctum, located on a unremarkable corner of her property. A trusted guard in her thrall ensures that no one disturbs the area, under the excuse of her most expensive wares being housed there.

She is also quite vain, and loves to be complimented, sometimes providing favors for those who catch her eye. When not among her guests or sequestered away in her sanctum, she keeps an apartment above the game house to bathe, admire herself, and count her gold. Occasionally business does call her away however, and she has an Argonian mercenary on call as a bodyguard for those trips. Though she is well-versed in ice magic herself, she prefers to keep her true abilities hidden unless otherwise forced. It is so much easier to convince people to do what you want if they underestimate you, after all.

Silent-Voice

Silent-Voice is a Silencer of the Dark Brotherhood. Raised as a Shadowscale, she was given to their care and taught the ways of shadow and the blade. One contract however proved to be a trap, and she was taken by the Worm Cult and sacrificed to Molag Bal. Shortly thereafter she awoke in a Coldharbour prison, with cloudy and uncertain memories. She managed to escape during a prison break, and was able to tag along with some others to escape back to Nirn and found herself near the lands of the dark elves. Forging a new identity, she eventually unintentionally found her way back to the Brotherhood, where she dealt with a rival organization seeking to eliminate an entire chapterhouse and earned her current rank. Sometimes she wonders who she was and where she came from before Coldharbour, but she feels no real urge to seek out her past. Change is inevitable, and her current life is one she finds quite agreeable.

One quirk she has adopted in her new life is her golden mask. Most of those she encounters on the job remember only the mask, which allows her to shed it as needed to move unimpeded and unrecognized among society, with only her Family knowing who actually lies behind it.

4th Era 201 (Dragonborn's Return)

Two hundred years after Martin Septim reinforced the barriers of Oblivion, a long-delayed force of destruction began to stir. The one who rose to oppose it in the frozen lands of Skyrim was spoken of by the prophecies of the Elder Scrolls. The Last Dragonborn.

Silent-Voice

Silent-Voice is the Speaker for what remains of the Dark Brotherhood in the 4th era. Born as one of the last Shadowscales alongside her egg-kin brother, she trained in the ways of stealth and the bow, before leaving to seek out what remained of the Brotherhood. Following the guidance of Sithis led her to the snowy lands of Skyrim, where she found herself involved in the events shaking the land.

Occasionally, she receives glimpses of other memories of times long ago when partaking of imported Hist sap, times with a similar face and name, but they never persist long enough for her to learn anything more. As a believer in Sithis however, she does not pursue these further than whatever glimpse the Hist allows, as the past is meant to be left there, including any past version of herself.
